Welcome Tour
Potsdam Museum offers guided tours specifically for groups of refugees through its permanent city history exhibition “Potsdam. A City Makes History.”
With this programme, we would like to offer people who have had to leave their homeland and cultural environment the opportunity to become more familiar with their host country. Through its historical artefacts, Potsdam Museum represents the cultural memory of the city and, as a forum, provides a place for dialogue and exchange.

Alter Markt Tour
One of Europe’s most beautiful squares is taking shape today at Alter Markt in Potsdam, directly in front of the entrance to Potsdam Museum in the Old Town Hall. Would you like to know what the square looked like in the past, which historic buildings date back to Frederick II, and how the reconstruction was carried out? We offer an informative guided tour for visitors.
During a tour of today’s Alter Markt, you will learn about the historic buildings and their modern reconstructions from an expert guide. The tour then continues inside Potsdam Museum’s permanent exhibition on the city’s more than 1,000-year history. Here, topics relating to Alter Markt are explored in greater depth and explained using selected original objects.
